About D&M Motors (West Kirby)
D&M Motors was set up in 1976 by David Hughes-Jones when he was just 19 years old. Originally the premises were in West Kirby Old Village opposite St Bridget's Lane and David did vehicle repairs and body work. Later on David acquired Barlow & Whitehead Tyre Centre in Acacia Grove, West Kirby before moving both sites to the present location at the MOT Station, Elder Grove in 2002.
In 2009 David's son Joe joined the company at 16 years of age followed 2 years later by his younger son Tom. Following the closure of all the others, D&M Motors now remains the only MOT Station in West Kirby. In 2022 David thought he'd semi retire and work just 2 days a week. However anyone who knows him would find that hard to believe and in reality it hasn't happened.
In 2024 D&M Motors bought the former site of Apex Automotives in Hoylake which now enables us to offer all our usual services in Hoylake together with Class 7 and larger Motorhomes MOTs.
Please note that the Hoylake location is not open every day, and only MOTs and certain services are offered at the moment. Please call and book an appointment first before turning up.
