Half a century on the Wirral
D&M Motors has been a trusted name in West Kirby since 1976, when David Hughes-Jones started the business at the age of nineteen. He began in West Kirby Old Village, concentrating on vehicle repairs and bodywork, before expanding to Acacia Grove with the acquisition of the Barlow & Whitehead Tyre Centre.
In 2002 everything was brought together at the current MOT station on Elder Grove. David’s sons joined the family business — Joe in 2009 and Tom in 2011 — and D&M has become a cornerstone of the local community: still the only MOT station in West Kirby, still reliable, high-quality work with a personal touch.
In 2024 we expanded to Hoylake, taking over the former Apex Automotives site on Carr Lane. It lets us offer more: class 7 MOTs for vans, class 5 for minibuses, and inspections for larger motorhomes. Hoylake is still growing and works by appointment, so please book online or call before you come.
